The "Lofters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U8TV:_The_Lofters)" was a Canadian reality show back in the early 2000s. The most famous offspring from the show is Jennifer Hedger, the current anchor of TSN/Bell Media's SportsCentre. The show ran for one and a half seasons, the second being cut short due to [the costs to broadcast over the internet were far too high for the show to survive]. Thinking something like this would work again? GTA-lakeshorers bring it on!

I never watched the show but I do recall auditioning for it and it was probably one of the most unusal auditions I ever did.. The real stupid thing was where the lofters dorm was.

I watched the show on television, but never online.
I also recognize Carolyn Jarvis who is now on Global News (and the Weather Network before that) as getting her start from the show. Also Tre/Trevor Smith is from the show and later appeared on Animal Housecalls on CP24 while working for the Toronto Humane Society - he got a lot of publicity after smashing the window of a car to rescue a dog and handcuffing the dog owner to the car etc.
