Looking to pick up a Samsung Note, my co-worker keeps going on about the N7000 version and how the i717 sucks is slower and has a poorer battery life. But it seems there are a lot of myths and misinformation floating around and thought we could clear some of that up.
Has anyone on here owned, used or tested both models?

From what I complied so far, here are some are pros and cons to either version. The main differences are:

1. International(N7000) has the Exynos processor, i717 has the Snapdragon. However people seem to have more love for the Exynos.
2. International will recieve ICS sooner, as of this writing its already out, However, the i717 will receive it by Q2 2012.
3. i717 has LTE, international only has HSPA+. However, if you are going to unlock it for another carrier, it is unlikely that you will be able to use LTE on the i717.
4. N7000 has more roms available and you cannot use international ROMs on the i717, and vice versa.
5. If you choose the i717, you will have warranty through your carrier.
6. N7000 can be flashed to unlock AWS band, making it a pentaband device. Not sure if this is possible oni717.

Either way, both phones are great, but you can get subsidized pricing on the i717 through your carrier with an upgrade, so it will be slightly cheaper, though you will be locked into 3 yr contract.

My i717 is flashed to run AWS. (i Didnt know that was possible with N7000 as the chipsset does not support AWS. also ICS will be available withing the week. (was supposed to be yesterday for all canadian carriers lol!)

the biggest factor imo is do you need LTE?

I've only used the N7000 a short time and have a i717, but the speed difference isn't as noticeable for me. But it's probably because I'm running Saurom with my Note overclocked to 1.89ghz.

The N7000 would be the phone to get if you're really into flashing custom roms on your phone. The N7000 has way more custom roms compared to the i717, which only has a handful of good ones.

Seems most international Samsung phones have better specs as proven by the recent release of the SIII, I'm wonering what the price will be tho.
I can get a NA Note i717for $199 on subisdy or drop $550 for N7000.

Some reports are saying say sthe screen on the Note is better than SIII. I'm going to wait until the SIII is released and maybe consider gettting the quad core one, that thing will be a beast.
