I want to get one of these for my PC and im thinking the 360 version one would be best but I really dont know. Ive heard that you can use your PS3 controller if you have a bluetooth, that correct? What else woudl you suggest using? I will use the KB/M lots but a gamepad is good for certain games.

I use one of my spare wired Xbox 360 controller. Just got the drivers from Microsoft's site.

I use a PSone controller with an adapter I found from TheSource (or you can get an adapter online, it's pretty cheap). Works well but I only use it for one game (NHL 2004 with the modern mod) so I dunno how it'd do with other stuff but probably good. The software driver comes with the adapter.

You don't need blue-tooth for a PS3 controller to work on PC, you can just use the re-charge thing which connects to the PS3 and connect it to your PC's usb drive. The program to use with it is called MotionJoy I think.

Obviously if you don't have a PS3 then don't go and buy a PS3 controller, buy a PS1 or PS2 controller cos they're cheap and get an adapter to go with it.

Wired 360 controller for me. I also have a Logitech one for use with games that came out before the 360 input standard (is is Xinput or DirectInput, I can never remember which) came about, but the 360 controller is the best for newer games.

I use a wireless xbox360 controller.

Newegg had a deal on about 4 or 5 months ago. A controller plus wireless adapter for 29.99. I wanted to play skyrim on the PC and it works greats.

I've noticed alot of the new games come preconfigured to work with a 360 controller. Probably because alot of the new pc games are also made to work on a 360.

PS3 controller is very good for many games, such as for wii emulator, PES, etc...

I use a Razer Onza TE 360 funtroller. It's a POS, but works, kind of. Been wanting to pick up a stock wired funtroller. Very useful for Assassins Creed, Fifa, Witcher 2, etc.

+1, got the same deal, it was a steal considering it came with the receiver.

OP, if I were you I would stick to getting the 360 controller since its sort of the 'unofficial' gamepad for the PC. Almost all PC games that I've seen support gamepads have the 360 pad layout. It'll definitely have the best compatibility and least headaches.

Well i think im going to grab the 360 gamepad as I tried the PS3 one last night with motion joy and its compatibility is actually rather low. I didnt even work with Rage.

This. Wired for simplicity plus it will work out of the box with windows 7 and many games without having to map functions to buttons.
