Anyone else in Mississauga East having problems with Acanac Cable Internet [Archive]

I am in mississauga west britannia and winston churchill area and Acanac cable is down this May 7th 2012 morning. It was working last night. I have Thomson DCM 475 modem and all the lights are on and the link light even blinks if you try to connect to the internet but no ip address. Tried resetting it bunch of times it connects but no internet.

Thank God I have not disconnected my Bell DSL internet for this very day because if they had perfect service than no one would be on rogers or bell. These guys dont even pick up their calls been on the phone since 9:00 AM and now it is 10:00 AM after I am done writing this I am going to hang up and launch a ticket on support@acanac.com because I bet after they pick up the phone they will tell me to do exactly that, open a ticket. But I must say while the service works I had great speed and great connection. Even though so many people said that there are so many problems with Acanac I still went with them thinking that once the connection is made what can go wrong after all its rogers providing the service. BUT now I know what can go wrong a bunch of things and I bet I will get blamed because its my own modem. I am seriously considering Teksavvy now or even Rogers!

Rogers is too expensive but in the interest of having one reliable service I guess one has to pay the pound of flesh so do speak!

Well I guess this brings my frustration down after venting out with having Bell Fibe6 line with 65GB as backup, I can not begin to imagine if someone had no internet service. Bell is great at the moment they have given me 50% off the internet service and 40Gb bandwidth for free and bundle discounts so with my home phone I only pay $56 including taxes. I only have two calling features and $10 off the phone line and $5 bundle discount on phone so my total bill for phone and internet is $56 thats because I keep fighting with them and been there for 10 years! If I disconnected my bell internet I would only save $15 as my discounts on phone service would go away so incremental cost to keep bell internet is only $15. The best $15 bucks I ever spent.

Hope ACANAC gets their act together SOON! still like the unlimited bandwith and speed with them so I guess I will continue to keep my bell back up and ride it out till the end of my year subscription with ACANAC and see if rogers will give something next year.
