I'm having a hard time dealing the problems with Distributel, I have no internet for about a month because of the DNS problem and they can't fix it, I almost spend all of my time following their procedure but still it didn't work. They send me a new modem because they said that it was the problem(They followed BELL decision of how to fix since they said that they were using their line), and after getting this NEW modem, it has the same problem, DNS problem occur when opening a web browser. Then I called their LEVEL 2 technical support again for about 20x? already? and the representative is saying that they are going to sent us another modem which will take a week because of the reason he stated that "maybe you got unlucky and received a broken one?" like come on I told them in the beginning that my family need internet, checking email, homework, and they are just driving us crazy.

I need your help and advice what to do. I'm using DSL because they don't have cable in my area.

To test if you have a DNS issue is to (start > run> cmd) ping google.ca and see if you get a response ping google.ca if it times out then we know something is a bit off. Then try pinging its ip address 74.125.226.23 if you get a response it is obviously their DNS

If you know how to enter the config page of your modem or router what you can do is change the DNS addresses to see if it is not distributel's side causing issues you can enter the following for DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (read here (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/)for more info)

One other thing you can do is the following as instructed by the first answer: http://tuxs.in/KA9ZuQ
