Is anyone here looking forward to it? I am going to be cosplaying as Izaya Orihara from Durarara. Maybe we could arrange an RFD meetup.

no music guest no point of wasting my money. I'm sad we only saw Kotoko / ZZ and Angela (Fan Expo) in Toronto. They need to bring some big name singer like JAM Project or Nakegawa Shouko and I'm sure there will be XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX amount of people.

I never been to one, but I dunno if this guy who makes these videos is going. It would awesome to see videos from him for Anime North.

I've gone periodically, every few years, don't think I'm going this year. Probably that Anime has lost most of its appeal for me, there are some great gems here and there every season, but even then I don't end up finishing the series. I remember at last year's con, I could barely recognize half the cosplayers.

They do have a vendors area where there are at least 50+ vendors that sell everything from cosplay items/clothing, to real swords, to the usual manga, wall scrolls, plushies, etc. I find the artist area more interesting, there are many very very talented artists that sell posters and commission custom art pieces.

Edit: Oh, and for the photographer/videographers, no need to pay for admission, just chill out in the parking lot, the hotel, or the grassy areas, and you can spend the whole day taking pictures. It's an odd feeling when you can literally creep everyone without any conscience and everyone is okay with it :P

And yeah, I was there for both angela and KOTOKO, was a lot of fun - too bad we don't get big names unlike our US counter-parts. Obviously much larger but still!

Yup, before I used to watch lots of series each season but after a while, you notice its the same formula and you start to get tire of the same character design. I'm liking old school drawing style more now and only watch show's I really enjoy. Most of time I will just wait for a whole series to air to watch it at once because if you stop in the middle and watch it later you forget the important little things.

Would of enticed me to go if they had big names, though ANorth has grown every year to a point where they have to restrict the amount of people due to size/safety limits. I know a few people who live near L.A. & Boston, and they always rave about the Con that happens. Regardless, its popular enough haha. The demographics are pretty interesting too.

Exactly. I might follow a series, but I usually just forget about it and never bother to finish it. Many of the new series use the popular 'moe-blob' style, which is basically all about which characters are the most moe and have the biggest fanbase behind it. Great for business sales (and hoarders heh), but it leaves quality much to be desired. I still watch anime from time to time, but mostly the older stuff I've archived from years ago. AVI and 720x400 resolution FTW!
