You need to find your home school. By searching for it on tdsb.on.ca You don't 'pick' the school. You can apply for optional attendance if there is a school that you prefer.

But generally optional attendance will be very limited if it's even available at the top schools. If you're targeting a public school and can move, figure out a school you like and move into the catchment area. Seneca Hill is very well-rated and reasonably close to where you live. Real estate there is also very cheap when compared to real estate in most other areas in the city with top-ranked schools.

For private school options, the Giles school is not too far away from you. The other private schools I'm most familiar with tend to be closer to the city (UCC, TFS, Crescent, etc...) But, be prepared to budget $20k to $30k per annum depending on the school, plus an initiation fee in the first year.

Good luck.

No idea, sorry, I'm not familiar with the schools in your neighbourhood, I live just north of Bloor. But, frankly you should be looking for an after-school program first as they are the hardest to find particularly if you're looking for a program in the same building as your KG program. For example, when I lived in Leaside, the waiting list for the after-school programs of the local schools was at least 2 or 3 years, assuming they would even take down your name for the wait list. Because of this, we kept our kids in local Montessori because the cost premium was small given the logistical nightmare of trying to co-ordinate multiple pick-ups and drop-offs in a day.

As for cost, I found all of the programs near me to be similar in pricing, unless the program was part of the school because then the program would be subsidized. These programs also have very long waiting lists.

Good luck.

Just a note on McKee. You need to live in a house in the catchment area to be able to attend. Anyone living in condos in the area get sent by bus to a different school, because McKee is bursting at the seams.
