Hey everyone, going to Disney for the first time this fall, was wondoring if anyone can recommend a hotel very close to the park that has multiple rooms, we are 4 adults (2 couples) and would like our own room but are trying to keep the cost down a bit.
I cant believe how much cheaper it is to fly from the US to CAN VS CAN to the US, under 700$ taxes in to fly from Orange County to Edmonton, for 4 people.
Heres the plan.
Arrive in Vegas on OCT 17th, Wedding in vegas(not my wedding) on the 20th, traveling to Anaheim on the 21st with the married couple, Disney parks on the 22nd and 23rd, and Universal studios on the 24th, return to EDM on the 25th.
Also any recommendations for a rental car from vegas to ANA, need something we can leave at orange county airport.

We did a Vegas/Disneyland trip a couple of years back.
We stayed at the Residence Inn: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/snaah-residence-inn-anaheim-maingate/
We only had a studio (queen bed and queen sofa bed) but they had 1 bedroom and think a 2 bedroom unit. Was about a 15 minute walk to the main gates if I remember correctly. We took a shuttle the first day but found the walk was fine with two kids (7 and 10) and the shuttle bus stopped at a few other hotels so it didn't save much time. Main reason we picked this was we got a very good sale rate and the kids enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was a great way to start the day. Lots of hotels in the area but sorry not familiar with any others with multiple rooms.
We also flew in/out of Las Vegas since we there's generally good airfares. Also had a good 2 week rental rate from Thrifty Car rentsl (sub $200 for the 2 weeks). Not sure on the one-way drop off charges. When I booked the rental I found prices fluctuated up/down so ended up modifying the reservation until the price bottomed out a couple of weeks before the trip. Didn't really need the rental for the first couple of days in Vegas but the 2 week rate was better and we saved on the taxi ride. We also did a side trip to the Grand Canyon on the way back from Anaheim to Las Vegas.

Keeping cost down. Hmm. I suggest the following:
- Howard Johnson which is just across the street from the park.
- Clarion is about 10-15 minutes walking away.
- Best Western Plus, across from the park.
As with car rental, I used Alamo. You can pick up at airport.

Costco has some packages for Disneyland. You might want to check out betterbidding and then use Priceline to bid on a hotel to save $$$.

We liked the Doubletree Anaheim where we got a decent deal on a suite. It's a lovely hotel that might give you enough room/privacy for 2 couples. It's a couple of long blocks south from the park entrances, but definitely walkable for grownups. If you walk about the same distance thew other direction on Harbour you hit Target and quite a few chain restaurants.
