Just leased for the first time. Negotiated a otd price with the dealer, i specified the price didn't have any additional fees, especially doc fees. I know there are certain fees that are necessary like the PPSA registration fee., but taking a closer look I was charged 'Lease Service Fee' for $350. seems like they just transferred the doc fee. I was told it was mandatory.
For you guys that lease, is this a normal charge?

Was it built in to the final negotiated price, or was that on top of that?

I got the same fee for a lease early this year (actually less, but probably different lease company). Have a look on the document and see if it was hard printed (i mean something that was on document when it was received in dealership). Idea is that fee is from financial entity that will handle lease and it is not coming from dealer.

Ok, thanks. The finance lady showed me the screen and the fees fields were greyed out . She did say they were from the leasing company but I just don't trust dealerships.
thanks alot, was stressing about it.

Did you purchase through a dealership? Or a leasing company?

One more comment: this is like a land transfer fee (Ontario) when buying a house. It is there and can't get rid of it.

The lease fee is probably a fee for the leasing company itself. You added a middle man, so now you gotta pay up too.

No such thing as a lease service fee. Just a made up charge. I work at 2 dealerships.

I don't work at a dealership but I've leased 4 different cars and I've never paid a 'Lease service fee'. I can only imagine (as another poster mentioned) that this is because the lease isn't being done through a manufacturer, but instead through a 3rd party leasing company.
