I received a final response from a Service Specialist at the Sears Customer Support Centre and they said the 20 gauge staples my 2003 stapler uses are no longer available. Well that not news and from a 2 1/2 year old posting I found on Sears own web site they told another custom they could no longer source the special size of staple for this expensive pneumatic upholsters style stapler. I could be wrong but it seems to me Sears couldn't get staples for this gun less than 6 years after it was sold at their stores, is that acceptable?
In my opinion it's not wise to purchase any store branded tool, always buy brand name tools sold by numerous retailers. Almost all name brand tools use the same consumable sizes as their competition meaning you will never be stuck looking for supplies like staples or find them not available do to obsolescence.
I would like to thank MAYMYBONNELIVEFOREVER for all his help because he put me on the track of a company called Duo-Fast that does make a 20 gauge staple that will fit my stapler but they are not a brand you see on the shelves of you local building supply or hardware store.
