We have been using a few short Youtube exercise videos for the kids but hubby wants to have them burned on one DVD so we won't have to hook the computer to the TV for that purpose. I looked it up on Youtube but all the instruction videos were pretty old (2007 - 2009) and I would like to have more updated information.
I have Youtube Downloader that can convert the FLV clips to MP4, AVI, and a few others but no DVD formats. My few questions:
1) What type of format should I convert the video into, in order to burn it on a DVD?
2) Once I converted and saved the video, is there any free (and safe) software that I can use to burn the converted video(s)?
3) I would like to burn a few videos on the same DVD, is it possible?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you can probably find a free dvd burning program at altenativesto.net
but as far as formats, most programs should be able to format and burn .avi, .mpg, .mov into one viewable by any dvd player.

Ah thanks... but I have to take it back. The Youtube Downloader I have is free so it will only load the video as FLV or MP4. Only the paid version has more converting power. Think I will have to look around for free downloading software that will work with Youtube. Back to square one! :(

MP4 is fine, what you can always do is download Adobe Premiere as well for a trial run, and use that to convert your videos and burn them as well.

Thanks again! I went to convert the videos twice and they finally got converted into AVI (would be easier if I had waited a bit longer for your answer) Now I need to get them burned on a DVD. Still, can I burn them on the same DVD or will I need three DVDs for three different videos?

It depends on the DVD authoring software you're using, settings in terms of video quality but you should be able to fit anywhere from 2 to 6 hours on a DVD with no issues.

In that case, I'd better start hunting for DVD burning software. Cheers!
Edit: Used Windows DVD Maker to burn a few clips on the same DVD. It worked but the quality was just terrible but the kids probably wouldn't care! :D

Jdownloader will download youtube and decypher the links without issues, and it's free. The bad news is that all youtube videos i've seen are natively flv or mp4. What you will see are different resolutions for each of these, and of course dif file sizes once you try using jdownloader on each youtube link.

I have never heard of Jdownloader so I used Youtube download and it worked. Then I used Windows Movie Maker to burn the DVD, didn't have major problems, unfortunately the quality was very bad. Watching the DVD on my 16" monitor was tolerable but once it was displayed on our 40" TV I couldn't bear to look at it.

Step 1: Download the video from YouTube
Step 2: Convert the resultant video if necessary
Step 3: Assemble and author the DVD
Step 4: Burn the DVD
