Hi,
sorry if this topic has been discussed before, i want to sell my iphone 4 (fido) and i've heard stories about people restoring their phones as new and selling them but people were still able to get imessages from the previous owner even if they switched the sim card.
is this still a problem?
if so, is there anyway to fix this?
i want to sell my phone but i don't want the buyer to get imessages from my contacts.
TIA.

Just disable iMessage before you do a full restore on the iPhone 4. Also - goto the Apple Support page and remove it from your purchased devices (I'm not really sure if this step is necessary).
Once you have disabled iMessage, you can perform a complete restore and sell it. However, it may take a few hours before you start getting texts vs iMessage from other iDevices.

I thought if you pull your sim card first and then erase.your iphone and do not use your.sim to activate the phone. The imesssge info would not be there

sorry if I'm misreading it, but why would one perform a complete restore before selling it? do you mean restore as new phone or restore to your previous backup? wouldn't erase everything do the same thing?
