I've had seasonal allergies for about... 4 months now, and i'm afraid it might carry on pass Summer. I haven't bought any allergy medicine because that stuff is damn expensive, but it seems i'll have to now as i'm dealing with several jobs, and fitness training. Does anyone know any cheap solutions or medications for allergies? Much appreciated.

lol.. ^

why would you want to skimp on meds.. just go to costco and buy allergy meds in bulk or get some from your family physician. I wouldn't wanna mess around with stuff I put in my body, but that's just me.

Some times shoppers has life brand extra strength "reactine" on sale, and you can find a time to get 20x optimal points on top of that. It works the same as Reactine Brand.
The cheapest way in the long run is to see a allergy specialist and try to get some test and allergy shots (could be a few years of allergy shots) and get this allergy symptom cured, it is a long process but probably worth it.

The patents for most (but not all) of the major brands of allergy medications have expired, meaning there are generics available.

Reactine is the best selling allergy medication in Canada (or at least it used to be). It's now available in generic form, called Cetirizine. You should be able to find generic Cetirizine in any drug store or grocery store for a reasonable price.

If that doesn't work try another one of the generics. Generic Claratin, called Loratadine, is also popular with many people.

the reason I want cheap allergy medicine is because imo, they're not really worth the price if they can barely hold down your symptoms. yeah i think I made up my mind though, allergy specialist here i come, maybe 10 pill pack of reactine as well, gotta save up dat monaaaay

I'm not sure about you, but my drug plan covers that so when I had extreme allergies before (over the counter didnt work well enough), my doctor prescribed me prescription grade Reactine (i think it's just 10mg vs 5mg) and it was covered.

The most effective medicine for allergies still Benadryl (diphenhydramine). It does make you a little drowsy though.

Best price by far is the generic version at Walmart (like 1/3 price). It's about $7 for 50pills or $11 for like 100 pills. I buy them for my allergies in the fall and also use them for my dogs' fall allergies (lol......we take the same meds).

Nothing else comes close to this price and effectiveness. Benadryl is still the gold standard for allergic reactions.
