I don't want this to turn into a morality play. We all know that what the nazis did was horrendous and I am asking this question because military tactics interest me.
What are te main reasons for Germany losing world war 2?

They went and fought the russians, they lost there, and then the russians attacked the germans and drove them back to germany.

Do you think they would have won had they not attacked the Russians?

Tactically, they fought a war on two fronts. They also overreached and tried to take Russia in winter. If they had focused on just the West, they would have won.

They lost the war because Hitler shot himself. Why did he shoot himself? Because he got the gas bill.

Yup, attacking Russia during winter wasn't their best idea. Had they not done that they might've won.
