Southbound McCowan, right at the entrance to Scarborough Centre TTC station. This one is super sneaky, I saw 6 cars caught in mere 15 minutes.

Outside McCowan station is usually for running stop signs at Town Centre Court or making a U-turn on Bushby eastbound, not speeding.

On Brimley southbound near the 401 is another common speedtrap. Just before the Progress Rd lights going into STC.

Actually that one's been around for a while now.

I see a lot of drivers just bomb down that section at 90+km/h.

Sometimes it is at the middle where the island is and sometimes it is at the right side behind the trees. I've seen people getting caught driving 60KM/H+ :cheesygri

yeah

usually that trap is for the people going downhill towards northbound.

You stood there for 15 minutes and counted?

There always one going northbound on brimley right after the bridge over the 401, speed drops from 60 km/hr to 50 km/hr before the bridge so most people go down at 70 km/hr only to get booked

I think the brimley speed trap is known by most people. I brake through that section :cheesygri

That one I think the cover has been blown, and not much revenue there. I haven't seen it for a while.

looks like it's the quota time of the month again....

on an unrelated area...

9th Line and 16th...Cop car takes the corner of the pedestrian sidewalk (corner of petrocan) with his parked car....seriously.

nabbing speeders gunning it on 16th (eastbound)

I swear these speedetraps need to go. You don't see them in black spots where they are really needed. How about setting up one for those morons on Steeles who keep running lights and causing an accident?

There's practically NO accidents ever on that strip at this speed trap (well, occasionally at the 401E exit but that's not caused by speeding but idiots running lights). But I see the cop themselves almost causing a few when they walk three lanes to stop the catch, then the car behind tries to slow down and almost rearend the car caught.

On Brimley southbound near the 401 is another common speedtrap. Just before the Progress Rd lights going into STC.

These two places in particular are places where the speed just drops to 50 or is the "odd" 50km/h area (not really "odd" per say, just where everywhere surrounding it is 60, except for that particular road), places that to me tend to be typical place to put a speed trap. Whenever the speed limit suddenly drops to 50 or the road itself is usually 50, I try my best to be weary with those particular roads.

The stretch of 14th Avenue in between Brimley and Kennedy sometimes has a speed trap too. The rest of 14th in general is 60km/h but specifically that stretch the speed limit drops to 50km/h. I've seen it set up for heading both eastbound and westbound, but tends to be more for the side that's heading eastbound.

A bit off the ways, but Midland ave, south of Danforth but north of St. Clair, it used to be a 60. They must have changed it to a 50 within the past year. And lo and behold, there were a speed trap just north of the Go Train Bridge. So sneaky.

What's funny is, when you go south on Midland, you see 2 or 3 different signs that says 50 begins right after another. So somebody screwed up when putting the new speed signs up.

Definitely seen a lot of speed traps since around mother's day.

I guess I don't see it since I don't drive on weekdays much. Weekends it's definitely clear, back then it was ALWAYS there.

There's one that's not so frequent but occaisionally there (like this morning) at McCowan/401. East side of McCowan at the beginning of the east bound ramp.

LOL sorry I must've read it wrong then.....4pm end of the day I'm not thinking properly
The less dust I disturb, the less it disturbs me :)

This is why I hate Midland Ave...too many 'patchy' 50km/h areas along that stretch to get to BBT:razz:
