Recs for eats on a student's budget and within walking distance from York U.

Open for all suggestions-no typical fast food joints, please! Willing to walk up to 20 mins one way for good, cheap eats.

There isn't too much good food to eat around York tbh.

There's Oishi Sushi at Keele and Finch, Thai Basil at Keele and Steeles, Our Thai from Vaughn delivers to York for free if your order is over $20 and you will have enough for a couple of meals. Then I know there's a Pho place at Keele and Finch but haven't eaten there, I've been to the one further down Keele in the plaza with the No Frills but is a bit of a walk.

The Bamiyan Kabab across from Hoops is not too bad either.

If you're not too keen on walking that far the Food Cents plaza has a Caribbean place which wasn't too good and a Nigerian restaurant which I haven't tried yet.

Bamiyan's a good suggestion. I always order the $5 chicken caesar salad. Comes with a skewer of chicken breast over a plate of salad + a naan. Great deal for $5. You can order some individual kabobs for $2 each as well.

Oishi Sushi was a good reco. There's all you can eat lunch for $10.99. If you show York ID, you get an additional 10% off.

There's also Pho Mi 99 at Jane & Finch. It's more of a walk but you can't go wrong with delicious beef noodle soup.
