Has anyone tried the CN Tower edge walk? Do they let you step off and dangle yourself from outside ( can your feet leave the outside wall of the building). It seems like such a thrilling experience but expensive at $175.
Anyone tried it?

It's awesome.
Time the walk with a Jays game, and you'll see the Dome open and the Jays playing from above!
Little pricey (a skydive in Las Vegas is $199), but, well worth it IMO. Comes with a video and pics as well.

seems kinda cool until you realize you're just walking on a tall building. Like the previous poster said, rather spend the money on a skydive instead.

I did both skydiving and edgewalk last summer. Personally I thought the edgewalk was quite boring because there wasnt any excitement to give me the umph but that maybe because I did skydiving couple days before. Lucky for me I didnt have to pay for anyone as I knew someone who worked there so I got to do it before the public last year.*
However, when I asked my friends who've tried it, they all said they had a blast only because they haven't tried skydiving yet.

Wow $175. Here in BC we have several edge walk towers which you can go to anytime for free and they are 5 times taller than the CN tower. We call them mountains.

only problem with that is the jerky guys on the mountain making jerky comments. :)

Go to Canada's Wonderland and try Xtreme Skyflyer (the bunjee) for $30 if you go with 2 other friends. Better price, better thrill, louder screams!

Based on the pics from the OP, seems they are leaning back and letting the rope do all the work. What I don't understand is if your paying TOP dollar for this why not have the person leaning the other way around so that they can have a REAL experience facing the city.

They do have you lean out facing the city as well. I guess it just doesn't photograph as well for advertising purposes.

You do look the other way too.
I've done sky diving (controlling the parachute myself too), and this, and I still think this is worth it.
The view of the city is wonderful. And like I said, do it during a Jays game, looks really cool from atop the CN tower.
But, if you had to pick between sky diving and doing this, I would pick sky diving (but make sure the company you go with allows you to control the parachute).
Not a big fan of bungee jumping because of the strain it puts on your knees/ankles and the kick back of your neck.
And like a friend of mine has told me regarding bungee jumping, "A broken rubber brought me into this world, I'm not gonna let broken rubber take me out of it."

Aside from feeling queezy when looking down from a height the few pieces of logic that hold me back are:
1) Money
2) If it is safe then it is safe and I have nothing to fear and so do not fear.
3) If it is not safe it is because a person screwed up and then I die and I am not spending money for that.
I am not worried about falling....just worried about someone not doing their job right ala hang-glider instructor in BC.

Exactly. I also wonder why people buy convertible cars when they could buy a motorcycle and get the same feeling.... I guess they have never been in a motorcycle, those fools.

I get a good thrill from standing on the glass floor in the CN tower and its cheaper too. Got money left over to enjoy the buffet rotating restaurant.

My dad's a window cleaner and has brought me on the stage with him a few times. That's good enough (plus I got paid to do it so yay!).

I wouldn't. I faced my fear of heights last week at Tree Go, which was awesome, but I was scared at like 100ft up in trees. This would make my young heart fail.

CN tower has become more and more useless over time. Besides being a large antenna, having a crappy 360 degree revolving restaurant, and a sightseeing deck to a boring landscape, they made such a useless tower that serves only tourism purposes. They must be low on revenues to come up with this overpriced "thrill". I'd rather have something like the Empire State building that has multi-purposes such as a sight-seeing deck and offices.

I agree - I'd pick skydiving over this, as well (I've done both skydiving an bungee jumping multiple times). There's nothing like actually being in FREEFALL to get your thrills. I'd try the EdgeWalk if it was cheaper but it's definitely a level down from skydivng.
