I made some egg yolk ravioli over the weekend, and while shaping them with a knife wasn't too bad, I think it's time to get those metal dough-cutting disks. Does anyone know what they are called, or where they can be found?

You can pick up ravioli makers as well, it might make things quicker and keep each ravioli uniform.

That looks really neat, thanks! I probably will pick those up for making the regular kind (the egg yolk ones are huge).

No empty soup (or other) cans around?
I just raid the blue box for a suitable size.
I've even used drinking glasses in a pinch.
If you want the real thing, it's more like where can't you get them.
They're everywhere from grocery stores, dollar store, department stores, bulk stores, kitchen supply.
Quality, size and shape may vary though.

You know it never crossed my mind to use an empty can, heh. Guess you can tell I'm a noob cook :)

Ahhhh, I quickly read your post. I assumned the eggs were mixed into the pasta, not inside the actual ravioli. Yeah, those would be too small for what you were making. Oops. :o

I wouldn't say that is due to being a noob cook.
Afterall, if it were playdough, the same principle applies.
I mean no personal offense, but I do see an increasing general society issue where improvisation is lacking.
We are more and more programmed to buy specific purpose items rather than make something or consider options.
Many times I've gone to a big box hardware to look for items to construct something, only to be asked "what are you using it for".
They want to direct me to the pre-packaged, single purpose product (which doesn't even exist) and I want raw material to make something unique.
At least you ventured into homemade ravioli, which distinguishes you from most.
