I've been a subscriber forever and have always been able to get discounts either as a student, through CAA, or just by complaining that they were charging too much.
My subscription is up at the end of this week and the renewal is $82 more than what I was paying last year. When I complained, the CSR just shrugged it off, explained how expensive it was to publish and distribute a newspaper, and wouldn't budge.
Does anyone know know of any possible deals for the Gazette?

I was thinking about that.
Any idea of the cost?
Can it be pushed to an iPad or Android tablet automatically so that it's there when you wake up?

What is the actual price?
Tablet app/their web site let you read the gazette without all the advertisments/promotions & I'd still rather read the paper.

So would I rather read the paper ans I like sale ads. That's why RFD is my hangout.
Price has been $14.94 per month = $179.28 / YR. In June it will go to $18.99 plus tax = $21.83 per month = $262.00 /YR.
The CSR was trying to convince me it was still a deal.

Hey dude. I have also been a subscriber forever. Never paid full rate. Usually I just threaten to cancel and something good is offered. My previous rate last year was also something like 15$ plus they sent me a 20$ movie voucher. This time however, they cheerfully accepted my cancelation! Not even a slight attempt to give me an offer. The person on the line seemed more excited to cancel me than if she was signing up a new customer. I got bored with no paper after 5 weeks and called back and couldn't get anything else but the exact rate you got offered. I took it but not after chatting with the person asking what happened to the discounts, he said they are pushing to have all subscribers either pay the full rate or else go digital cause the print edition is losing money.

Welcome to the club.
Thanks.. but which club? the redflagdeals forum (which I've been here for over 4 years) or the club of people paying too much for their gazette? :D
By the way, because of you I checked and they are advertising now 19.99$/month for 1 year for new subscribers.. it's right on the website! So us longtime clients get 1$ less than anyone off the street...

Now it is about 26$ per month. I had been getting a 13$ per month rate, but they said they are no longer offering deep discount rates. To compensate, they are offering $30 gift cards to Loblaws or Pharmaprix.
