Hello all,
I am looking at either a 7" or 10" tablet. I have come up with this list, I am looking at spending between $199 and $270, nothing more.
The Acer Iconia Tab A Series A100 8GB for $199.
Acer Iconia Tab A500 16gb for $268.
Is there a big difference between the two, other then the size?
I am mainly looking to use it for some web browsing, email and games such as field runners.
Thanks

have you thought about getting a cheap china tablet?
I have a Ramos W17 Pro Dual-Core with 16gb.

(note I didn't order mine from there, I got link from an aussie forum where they did a good job getting tablets to them. Where I bought mine was more expensive!)
It can do all you want and more.
it runs field runners really well!
only probs are the screen, the viewing angles are really bad.
battery life is about 5 - 6 hours with general usage.
it does get a bit warm, but its improving with firmware updates.

Thanks for the reply.
I am looking for a name brand product, just like the idea of a warranty and am looking at getting one with a tegra 2 chipset.

I have no idea on name brands, other then an hp touchpad!
I would read up on the iconias here
http://www.slatedroid.com/forum/175-acer-iconia/
will give you a fair idea how well they work.

i'd steer far clear of the china tablets... its a gamble generally which hardware you get, and even if you get what you think has certain hardware, it may be a different run in production. the support is ***** for them and its a huge hassle to get updates if at all. they are disposable for the most part.
stick to a brand name, atleast then you'll have no troubles with support.
and really if you can, just try and get an ipad used.. you could probably snag one from someone whos upgraded to the new one for a decent price... you'll be happier in the end assuming your not an 'apple sucks' fanboy.

Google's 7" tablet, which is being manufactured by Asus is rumoured to be coming out this summer at a $200 USD price. I would wait till we hear more about that before buying a tablet around that price range.

If it is between those 2 only, I would pick the A500. Web browsing is a bit difficult compared to the iPad, mostly due to the larger screen. The quality of the screen on the A100 is not great, I feel the A500 has a nicer screen.
