So I may have been scammed perhaps.

Seller thread here: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/black-blackberry-bold-9900-rogers-1179408/

Likely my own fault as I ignored the guidelines (paid EMT, seller had only 1 feedback, only joined in April)...

Seller was quick with communications during sale. I sent EMT this morning , seller said they would get me the tracking # this morning at 9AM (Vancouver time). User hasn't been online since. Sent emails, no response.

ugh.

I'd give him one more day as I think it's a bit early to say. People do get busy sometimes, but I do hope it works out in your favor OP. Do you at least have other contact information for him?

unfortunately no. he had offered to call me to discuss the deal, but everything seemed okay, it seemed legit so just went ahead like an idiot lol.

it could also mean whoever gave him positive feedback before could be a fake too.

Honestly the fact he mentions he wants payment in Canadian dollars before he even describes more about the phone or where he got it from just gets my spider sense tingling enough. In other words he wants your cash in the format he wants FIRST then he gets into phone details like its not that important. At least thats the way it comes off to me. Then a simple check of feedback shows that his previous "buyer" has only 6 posts and just as new?

We need to be as vigilant on here as possible as RFDers since the more we fall prey to these scumbags the more they will try to strike at us on this website. Nevertheless You dont deserve to be scammed and I am sure other RFDers will step up here and try to help you out.

Lets see what happens. If he proves himself a scammer I will use my computer skills to find out as much for you as I can.

Still no word from him, but I lost hope a while ago anyway hah.

Yeah, looking back on it in hindsight, definitely some signs I should have caught.. especially after being on here for so long and having no issues before. In fact, I'm on HOFO as well, and was looking at their scammer thread and if I were to guess, this scammer is the same person: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1764537-Mark-Linde-(marklinde86-gmail-com)-has-scammed-me-for-450

His 9900 thread also states "Canadian dollars" , and he has feedback from new posters with only 1 feedback themselves (from him).

Can you post his details to help future RDF'rs avoid him?

Yes that would be good. I can start my detective work for you if you can post more info.

BTW people when you see suspicious BST threads or feedback (ex a new account made and instant feedback given to seller on a sale that happened before the account was even made) on users who you think are scammers please report them. It never hurts for NSX or one of the other mods to check it out. You would be doing the other users on RFD a favor and making it harder for people to scam on the site.

mail product

looks like it's never a good deal to start with, i still don't understand why people even think about doing a deal like this, personally, i would never do a deal with either of those transaction online unless it's a big company (BB, FS) no matter how good a deal it sounds

good luck on getting your money back OP hopfully someone can pull up some good info to help you out
