So I was doing a bit of DIY upgrading on my MacBook Pro and I mistakenly knocked off the audio output connector on the logic board. Basically, that is a small receptacle that the speaker wire plugs into. That receptacle is soldered onto the logic board in two small places and I knocked it off at the solder points.
Now I have no audio out of one speaker. It's not as if the MBP produces high-quality audio to begin with, but it's still annoying.
So far I've talked to three repair shops and they all want to replace the logic board, which seems like overkill to me. I'd like someone (obviously less klutzy as me) to try re-soldering the connector, but I can't seem to find anyone with the skills or willingness to do it...
Any ideas?
