View Full Version : Does an oil & filter change cost extra for 6 cylinder cars?

I had to pay 5 extra dollars? I'm not complaining but want to understand
The guy told me it's extra because it's a 6 cylinder car as opposed to a 4 cylinder honda civic etc etc
I didn't want to argue with him as he had already performed the oil change.

I don't see how it matters how many cylinders it has. What would matter is its oil capacity, so maybe it took more than 5 quarts?

Process is exactly the same. The only difference is oil capacity. Different engines take different amounts of oil.

The V6 required more oil. So it cost more.

Most oil change place say in the fine print ".....up to 5L of oil....."
