I plan on buying some items from a US website.
They only ship to USA. I plan on getting it shipped to the UPS store in Lewiston and picking it up from there.

I will not be staying for more then 48hrs thus I will have no exemptions.

How much taxes would I have to pay on these goods?

Typically GST+PST or HST only. Exception being restricted items like tobacco & booze, but I've never paid duties on consumer goods. I don't know the exact rules on this & that.

Border guards appear to have quit collecting HST for the most part though, I haven't paid in years. I print out an invoice, an honest one, and hold it up and declare before they ask there first question. I haven't paid HST in years, current record at $550 tax free on a 20 minute run to the PO Box. Shop online 6-12 times per year $100-$550.

As an aside, not sure if you've got a history with the UPS store in Lewiston, but a closer option might be CBI USA right over the Rainbow Bridge (depending on which bridge you're going over, or where else you're headed). I've had good service through them.
CRA (?) when I phoned told me it would be 6% duty on light fixtures I bought at HD.com (product of China I think).

all depends on what the items are. May only have to pay HST, but you could also be subject to duty depending on where the item is made, and what kind of trade agreement Canada has with that country.
