Hoping for someone to be able to give me some help.
Been reading about the WD green drives in a NAS and it seems that it may be a bad idea. I don't have first hand experience, but it seems that they are failing in a RAID environment.
I was personally thinking of just have a NAS with JBOD, but I'm not sure what drive to buy. I'm just concerned in terms of dependability (what drive to install that would have the less amount of worrying of lossing all of my data, not the NAS unit). All I am doing is using it to stream to my WD Live to watch movies and listen to music. It just seems that the WD green drives are only good for backing up files and would not work well when you need to access files all the time with them. This is all from the information I have been looking up..if anyone has any further info that would be great.
I'm currently using a d-link 323 with a WD Black in it and looking to upgrade to a different NAS unit. Yes, I have heard from other people that it's overkill to put a WD Black drive in, but as I said I am looking for reliability...
