Not really going to buy it, I got that Staples one last week for $498, the one that came with the 2-year accidental damage warranty. =D
I asked because I have no experience with AMD processors, never used a PC with one before.
Just wondering how this A8 compares to the Intel processors ? What is it equivalent to ? Are there any benefits of the dual graphics cards ?

The AMD quad core processors like the A6 or A8 can be overclocked with the K10stat program (not sure about the name). Overclocking will likely void your warranty however. Stock A6/A8 are slower than the second gen Intel CPUs. Dual or dedicated graphics are ideal for gaming....some are better than others...usually all dedicated graphics are faster than integrated graphics.

What are the specs of the laptop you got? The one you just posted is a very good budget gaming laptop, but if its not for gaming, an i5 laptop would be a better option.

ATMD A processors should feel exactly the same as intel processors in daily tasks (ie powerful enough).
In video editing/rendering and benchmarking intel processors will be much faster.
Battery life is similar.
The 7690M graphic card is quite fast and with dual-graphics it is a beast in gaming.
