I ordered an HP laptop from BH Photo Video for a pretty awesome price.

I got it for $649.99. That's a pretty great price after my exhaustive researching. I ordred on May 31st and it showed 19 in stock. Today I check just for kicks and now it shows discontinued. Any idea why? Was it a mistake on thier end and that it shouldn't have been priced that way? I don't see how they could've have sold that many in the last few days. So what gives? Also, hopefully it's not really related, but my Purolator tracking number for this laptop doesn't work, but BH does say my order has been shipped out. Weird...

Probably clearing out the last of the inventory and not planning to restock it because HP no longer makes it?

Looks like it was released close to the beggining of the year, 6 months is a long time so I wouldn't say "suddenly discontinued". Looks like they are into the DV7 series now so a DV6 is one generation older than current.

As for purolator tracking wont work until atleast the beggining of the week.

they knew they weren't restocking it so they sold through existing inventory than put up discontinued afterwards. It would hurt sales if they showed it disc while still having stock even though it doesn't make a difference

Won't be a good gamer with the integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics. Some of the other DV6 laptops have dedicated graphics which are necessary for a good gamer (see recent sale at Staples $498 for a DV6).

I know. Originally one of my requirements was to have the option for gaming as the wife and kids like to play games. I don't though. And even then, they only play games like Roller Coaster Tycoon and The Sims. And even then, they don't have to play on the laptop. I want it mainly for business and multimedia and the HD 3000 and i7 I think is more than adequate for that purpose.

Oh and Staples never has stock in anything. Ever.

Yeah that's weird. They put it back in stock and no longer discontinued.

Edit: Nevermind, discontinued again.

if you got a tracking number it will work as soon as your item hits canada. they use a different courier (or puro usa) to get to Canada but the tracking number doesn't work until Puro Canada scans it.

Tracking number started to work this morning. But it only shows it left NYC Terminal. Not very detailed. No estimated delivery time - something I'd really like to know.
