 When someone offers delivery to your front door, why wouldn't you take advantage? Just curious...
"Can I ship to a local Costco warehouse to avoid shipping charges?
With the exception of tires, all orders must be shipped to your home or business address."

They usually write that shipping is free but at the same time there is sometimes a gap between the online price and local store price. Kinda like a hidden shipping price.

Um... also you don't need a Costco membership to purchase from them online so they tack some extra costs to cover that as well.

No, they usually write "Shipping & Handling Included".

I just bought an item online, and even though there is shipping and handling, it was included in the price. The item was on sale from $66.99 to $54.99. So my bill was, $54.99, shipping 12.28, hst 7.19, discount 12. Total 62.46. Few cents more on shipping.

I've bought stuff before online and the price was the same as the advertised price in-store.

Very often that's not the case. Individual shipping to customers' homes can cost a lot of money, especially on large/heavy items, and Costco's online prices reflect that. I just bought a Sentry safe (Costco Item #400767). In-store I paid $299.99 (regular everyday pricing, according to the staff) while on their website the same product is $419.99. That may be a more extreme example since it weighs something like 150 pounds, but it goes to show you can't assume identical pricing on anything.
