Should be since it's on the tread. I'd recommend both a patch and a plug.

Broken bottle?

Appears to be too big of a hole to patch up.

If you drove on that tire AT ALL while it was flat then it is ruined and must be replaced.

If on the inside the puncture is larger than a pen size you should replace the tire. You may not want a patched lateral tear on a tire right in the spot where you need make the emergency stop. Like a windshield, tears will enlarge under heat and pressure.

^+1..... Looks like the belts might have gotten cut through. Might be toast. Tire guy will have to check inside

Yes general rule would be anything more than a pen diameter then the tire has to be replaced.

If you tried to patch, upon patch, then your just asking for trouble with a blow out.

I would say that is fixable, assuming that there is no sidewall damage due to the tire being driven on. That said I think the best tire repairs are when a patch is applied to the inside of the tire, called vulcanization. That process seems much less likely to fail than using a plug from the outside.

well i took the tire to goodyear tire services. they said it was to big of hole:facepalm: just my luck 400$ for two new tires. what a shame cause those tires still had decent amount of thread left.
