Guys,
wasnt the xoom 2 supposed to be released by the new years or did I miss something ... no retailer in Canada is selling it .... how come?

Its out in the UK and US. Not here in Canada. Maybe Motorola Mobility didn't go ahead with it in Canada? I think its a wise choice. That's just me. I have had the Xoom since launch day and its a BIG disappointment imo. Even after the stock ICS update (few months later than US version got ICS) and its still sluggish and laggy. Plus it has received software updates 2 to 4 months after the US versions as I've mentioned.
Even though its supposed to be a "pure" Android tablet, still. Even rooting it (I went that root) and with custom ROMs, still isn't the greatest.
I'd take the Asus Transformer over the Xoom any day.

I think the new one is supposed to be called the Xyboard here? Telus has been clearing out the Xooms it has left for $229 taxes + shipping included (with WagJag's help)...so perhaps this is in preparation for the arrival of the new model...

Not to mention no big box retailer sells the Xoom anymore. Looked at FS, Staples and Best Buy - nada.
