Since Sunday is Father's Day, I'd like to have supper out with my family on Sunday night. But, I have no idea where to go. I will say that my husband and I have four young children all under 11. Honestly, AYCE is the easiest thing for us, because I know that they will at least get something in them if they've had a hand in selecting what goes on their plate (Don't get me started on the nightmare of taking them to East Side Mario's/Boston Pizza and getting them all to decide on toppings for the pizza).

We're sick of the Chinese places. Went once to Tucker's years ago, but the food was bad. Frankie's is OK, but I don't know if my husband is going to want to drive that far (we live in downtown TO). I called the Hot House Cafe this morning for lunch, but they're booked. Like I said, AYCE is easy for us, but I am open to other suggestions too. But, please, if you suggest AYCE please ensure it's priced accordingly. I don't care if it's top dollar, as long as the quality is there.

Totally understand the dilemma. Eating out with young kids is no easy feat. It's not fancy but would something like Pickle Barrel work? There's one at Atrium. My 4 year old loves that place. They have decent French toast for brunch.

I was going to suggest Mandarin, but one closest to DT (Yonge/Egg) is very tired (and somehow food is worse than other locations, at least I felt this way) and would probably be super packed.
Try Marche @ Yonge/Wellington. Not AYCE, strictly speaking, but food variety is great and quality is mostly OK. It would be a zoo at Father's Day, however...

Edit: Also, there used to be a Brazilian grill AYCE @ Eglinton East (between Yonge and Redpath), I dunno if they're still in business

It's not important to eat out on Mother's Day or Father's Day
since the (buffet) restaurants will be busier than usual.

- Backyard BBQ
- take-out food plus a fancy cake, ice cream

How about AYCE Korean BBQ places?

We're going with the backyard BBQ this year. Kid's love it and it's easy.

For Mother's day we just headed down Bayview around dinner an many restaurants were empty. We ended going to outer favorite AYCE sushi place.

As for where we take the kids (3 and 8)

Indian on Gerrard: Udupi
Sushi: various
Buffet: Dragon Pearl
Dim sum: various
Italian: la vecchia on Yonge
French: papillion for crepes
Pizza: bigmans

Pubs are great too...Olde Yorke FC, firkins, foxes, dukes...
or we go to to SLM and they can pick something for the BBQ

Then again the kids also love hummus and pita, rice etc...so the Danforth has lots of options too....

You can try AYCE Mediterranean place called Jerusalem Restaurant
On Leslie Ave just north of Sheppard.

They might have a belly dancer performing on Sundays. I'm not sure if that's okay with you.

Thanks for all the replies. In the end, we stayed in and barbecued. The kids wanted to eat outside on our patio, and my husband just wanted to relax at home with the family. We had an ice cream cake and gave daddy our gift. Happy Belated Father's Day to all you dads here too. :)
