View Full Version : Canada Post Tracking

Hi, I hope someone can explain to this me. I ordered some items (cellphone cases/covers and some skincare) from Korea through EMS shipping. It is not the first time I ordered something from this shop, each time the shipment was updated quickly on the Canada Post Tracking site (and within a week I receive the package, even during Christmas times). Here's my problem:

Canada Post keeps showing this update:

2012/06/11 22:05 KRSELB,South Korea International item has left the origin country and is en route to Canada
2012/06/11 16:39 442371,South Korea International item mailed in origin country

When I check on EMS Korea:

20:20 12-Jun-2012 Airrival at Destination Airport TORONTO
21:20 12-Jun-2012 Delivered to Destination Airport TORONTO

So obviously my package has arrived in Toronto, I'm used to seeing the normal "Package arrived at _____ and waiting for Customs to review" etc. but it's ridiculous how Canada Post is not even updating that it has arrived and is waiting for it to be review by customs! I called Canada Post today regarding this for the first time, and the rep. told me that they may be experiencing high volumes of packages so it hasn't been scanned yet. The rep. told me to call back on Monday if it hasn't been updated, I'm not interesting in playing this chase game! I just want to know where and what is happening to my package.

It's been 5 days almost, so where is it sitting?! Do they push back earlier arrivals to accomodate the freshly arrived ones or what?

I'm worried that my package has somehow gone missing? Or abandoned in a corner or something. I understand if it was held up in customs but it doesn't even show that?! And I apologize if I'm being anxious and need to calm down but it's also part of an upcoming friend's birthday gift so I hope to receive it as soon as possible! This has never happen to me before (I get the long awaited customs status/update but never this). Does anyone know what this may mean?

Thank you!

[UPDATE]: I received the package on Monday June 18. It cleared customs in 1 minute. Thank you to those that replied. =)

Probably waiting to be scanned for customs. Either way the package hasn't been through customs yet.

There must be a high volume of packages at this time.

Tracking a package with Canada Post will drive you insane. Best not to.

I don't understand why people like OP track it all the way from Korea. You know it'll be AT LEAST another week until it's anywhere near you, so why stress yourself out to see it's held up in customs?

Ems becomes regular mail once it hits Canada Post's hands. If there's any duties to be paid on it, they'll stick their own tracking sticker on it ( different number btw) and you'll have to sign+pay for it. I presume you can track this once it's in the system, but don't know how you'd get the new tracking #.

From the looks of the tracking, CP hasn't even seen it yet.

What they are in the process of doing at CPC is eliminating extra tracking labels, and only using their own. With that said, if it comes in with EMS, they'll add their own tracking number to it, but if you search the original number that item will still come up with the new tracking number.

thanks for replying =) I guess I have no choice but to wait, just surprised it didn't show up on the updates for customs review and yes, I like to know where my packages/mail are... can't help but stalk :(

Why, oh why, do people order stuff from overseas that they need in a big hurry? Common sense seems to be in increasingly short supply these days.

No, it does not. It becomes Xpresspost, which is Canada Post's counterpart for the international EMS program.

Because it tends to be fast throughout the years I have used the service, I paid for a faster service?

I'm hijacking your thread a bit here but tracking your Canada Post package will make you go insane!!
For example. I currently have a XpressPost package that took ~4 days to get from Singapore to Vancouver. Passed customs on June 16th and now I have no clue where the product is (according to Canada Post, it's still in Vancouver waiting for Canada Post to take it from customs). Very very hit and miss but they are dirt cheap compared to UPS!

Good luck!
