I need to do oil change and minor stuff on my Volvo.
Are they still doing software updates for free if car is serviced?

Software upgrades are always free. Just know which one to ask for. Which model and which upgrade? I can try to look em up?

my wife has 07 XC90,s till has a little bit of extended warranty left.
When I was at service dept in Newmarket they had a banner saying something like "free updates if you service your Volvo".
Unionville Volvo is the closest to me, so I'm thinking of trying them.

I prefer Volvo Villa. Much better than Volvo of Unionville. Ask for Michael at Volvo Villa. He's a friend's friend and I've been going to him ever since I needed some major stuff done that I can't do elsewhere at private shops. Well, more like private shops that I don't trust.

Because of the construction on Hwy 7, they might not upgrade the car's software for you. There were software upgrades available but I was given the excuse that they can't do it for me because of the construction. It might not matter now though as this experience happened to me half a year ago. Plus, it turns out Canadian vehicles are not getting the same software upgrades as our American friends. At least, not for me anyways, as I keep on getting a "upgrade is not available for you vehicle" despite it fitting the criteria of those software updates. Me thinks I bought a lemon :(
