Mad Men = best show on TV

Man is it good.

About 1/2 way through season 3 and its really the best show out there, and thats saying something. If we are going to talk about it though lets avoid spoilers.

Makes me want to have an old fashioned right now lol.

One of my favorite shows right now, too bad season 5 just ended, now I gotta wait a while until the next season :(
I suggest this show must be watched in HD, I tried watching an episode on AMC (damn Rogers doesn't have AMCHD) and it actually makes it look like a really old TV drama...

My friend feels the same way. He loves the writing. I caught up to the current season but stopped a couple of episodes in. I just don't find it entertaining to watch.

It is a good show, but I don't get as excited about it as I do Game of Thrones, Dexter (though this is starting to wane) or The Walking Dead.

What helps makes Mad Men a good show, is that it leaves a lot of the interpretation to the viewer. (eg. the end of the Season 5 finale)

The first 4 seasons are all on netflix gents. I just finished Season 3 on Saturday. Awesome way to end the season!

Top Gear is great too but i perfer Mad Men... they just dont seem to have the same catches that they used to on top gear (and thats ok cause the show is still amazing.

I'm not sure why the OP would make a thread when he is only half way through season 3. Spoilers are bound to come up whether intentional or not.

That being said, I found season 5 to be lacking. It seemed like it was coming around towards the end (episodes 11 & 12) and I was waiting for a big finale but it didn't happen.

Definitely Game of thrones goes first then Breaking Bad, for some reason I can't get into mad men this year. I can't even get past the first episode of season 3.

Some of the episodes in the second-half of the season are the best in the whole series. It's definitely worth sticking with, but you have to let it get to the point where the major stuff will have major impact (which it does).

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I don't care for anything other than these three however.

Game of Thrones would be up there with Breaking Bad, but I don't think GoT was very good this season. The books didn't translate into a great show, I felt it was too disjointed. Some great episodes, but as a whole the season was rather lackluster compared to the first.

have to agree, still love the show but something got lost this season, the book had me absolutely spellbound, more so than the first but it just didn't come off as well on the tube, can't put my finger on why, too much hopping around 5 minute scenes maybe, and some of the embellishments were just stupid /shrug.

Lol, so I am only 2 episodes in and thats exactly how I feel about the show so far.
I'll give it a couple more episodes before I make my final judgment on the show. Comparing to Suits, GOW, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, I prefer them all over mad men so far
