Hey,

I'm buying a used 2000 Honda Accord from a friend. It has 25,000 km on it, pretty clean and in good condition except for very small dents on the side that are barely noticeable. Do you think $7500 is a good price for it? Or what price would you recommend? thx

This car is barely worth like $3000. Who would pay $7500 for a 12yr old jalopy

I don't believe it has only 25k kms.. Not even slightly believable actually...

Thats 2k km a year..which means his daily usage is like what 6 km??

The seller is an elderly lady who doesn't drive that much hence the 25k...its actually 24k something.

Yep I don't think I'll be getting the car!

If the seller maintained it, and its a 4cyl and not a v6, id consider to get it for less then 7k for sure.
If its a v6, just pass...as the tranny issues will catch you rather quick.

Your friend is an old lady who never drives?

Anywho friend of not you're being ripped off. At 25k that means the car rarely got driven = its own set of unique issues.

Driving only a paltry 40 km per week on average - for 12 years - is not necessarily the best thing for a car.

I know you said you're not getting it, but another factor to consider would be recall work and whether it was done. I had/have a '98 Accord on which the recall work on the ignition switch wasn't done. In October '10 the car would just turn off when we were driving (in our case, it happened in a traffic circle - yikes!).

Its all about the condition, if it's accident free it's worth about $6000 retail and up to $4000 wholesale.
