AVOID BLACKS CAMERA!!
Spent over $400 on a top end Panasonic Lumix point and shoot DMC-ZS20. As it wasn't what I wanted I returned it within the 15 day "Love it or Return it" Guarantee and the store refused to refund my purchase price. Turns out that they'd sold me a demo model and it had a scratch on it so the camera wasn't in "original condition". It sure was the "original condition" I'd received it in.
Staff just shrugged - "too bad for me"

If it wasn't what you wanted why did you buy it in the first place?

Did you know it was a demo when you bought it?

What's not legit about it? Just look at the name. Blacks?
And it's just a small little store. I'm not surprised that they're scamming people left and right. Mom and Pop's kind of stores have crappy prices and bad customer service/refund policies.
To the OP, buy expensive stuff from BestBuy or Futureshop next time. They take returns within 30 days regardless of "condition".

Can't say that when there are thousands of satisfied Blacks customers out there (like me). Also, I wouldn't exactly call Blacks a 'small little store' considering it's a fairly large camera store chain. It's certainly not my "go to" #1 store for camera gear but I have bought something from there before and have had no issues.
This is a case of the OP not doing his/her due diligence with the purchase. If I am being sold a demo, I will ensure that the same return policies apply before leaving the store.

I hate those nation wide, multi-billion dollar mom and pop shops.

I bitched about Blacks a few years back for their goofy return policies. If you read the conditions, you can only return stuff if there's NOTHING wrong with them. That is, if the item is defective, too bad. If you just don't like it, then they'll take it back. Unreal. Why would I return something unless its defective, that's the whole point of a return policy. I did end up return the item was was complaining about, I just didn't mention it had a defect, just said I didn't like it.
This was at least three years ago, things could have changed since.
Should also mention that I turned around a few months later and bought another lens from them.. which was fine. Had there been anything wrong, I would have done the same.

I tend to avoid Black's Camera because they only seem to be interested in upselling. And I'm slightly annoyed that when I go there to look at some gear, they ask me if it's for a gift to my husband (they asked in several occasions). No, I'm a woman and perfectly able to take pictures, thank you very much

I returned a humidifier because it wasn't doing its job and the lady said I was abusing the policy and flagged my name/address. If I had a spine, I would have told her off and demanded to speak to the manager but as such, I just decided then and there to never buy anything big from CrappyTires that I couldn't absorb the cost of, i.e $0.20 washers or something.
They may be a big chain store but they sure do nickel and dime you like a small mom and pops.
