I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread about this yet but Vizio just announced their line-up for their first venture into the PC market. Overall, I'm very impressed with what was announced. The "Thin-and-Light" laptops pack some pretty impressive specs for a reasonable price:

Both the 14-inch and 15.6-inch CT14 and CT15 models come with third-gen Intel Core i-series processors: Intel Core i3, 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5-3317U, or 1.9 GHz Intel core i7-3517U. All models also have Bluetooth and SRS Premium Surround speakers. The CT-14 has a 14-inch 1,600x900-pixel display, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, a 720p Webcam, and 4GB of RAM, with either a 128GB or 256GB solid-state drive. The CT-15 has the same ports and RAM/storage options but a higher-resolution 1,920x1,080-pixel display.

There is a even a slightly thicker 15 inch model which includes 8GB of RAM, 1TB + 32GB SSD, and dedicated GPU (GT 640M)

The all-in-one PCs (both the 24 and 27 inch) feature: Intel Ivy Bridge processors, NVIDIA Kepler GeForce GPUs (the base configurations ship with Intel HD Graphics 4000), 1920 x 1080 displays and 2.1 surround sound audio with SRS Premium Sound HD. Storage options start at 500GB of space (for the smaller model) and top out at a 1TB hard drive paired with a 32GB SSD. The PCs include dual HDMI inputs and ship with a remote control.

Overall, they look very attractive and ship with no bloatware. Hopefully we will see these in Canada soon. To see some pictures of the models, check out the link below:

Hopefully when they do come to canada they don't get stuck with the idiotic bilingual keyboard.

What are they priced at, though? It will be hard to break in unless they are VERY competitively priced.

The base model will start at $898 USD for the "thin-and-light" laptops. Pretty reasonable to me.

Perhaps ... but at $1K buyers may want a more established name/warrantee.

I'm definitely keeping my eyes on this laptop and the coming offerings from Gigabyte and Dell.

Great price and sweet specs.

Vizio? They also make TVs right? Does anyone have experience with their TV products?

Wonder how they'd do in the PC market....

Vizio makes crap TVs and have crappy warranty service in Canada, so you should get the picture of what to expect.

You'd pretty much have to buy it at Costco.

If the computers are ordered from Vizio we do get a free 2-year Warranty upgrade, not too shabby.

Actually I have a vizio that was purchased in 2008 that is still going strong without any issues. The pq is quite good for the price that was paid for it
