Is it like Oshawa (awfalwa) ? According to this Best Place to Live (http://list.moneysense.ca/rankings/best-places-to-live/2012/Default.aspx?sp2=1&d1=a&sc1=0), Clarington is 9 in population growth. I wonder why that is exactly? It also says it is the 20th best place to live in Canada and has some of the best weather. Again confused:confused:

You are not moving anywhere.
They just put up an incinerator there. Other than that it is country nice.

Clarington is a big place.
The incinerator hasn't been finished yet. All the same, you may want to avoid Courtice.
Bowmanville has a nice, quiet small-town feel to it. You can get century homes near the downtown core, and lots of new development everywhere else.
Newcastle is even smaller, but with substantial new development close to the lake.
North of Bowmanville, are Solina and Enniskillen. There are some million-dollar units out there, if you want large property and peace & quiet.

Isn't there still a nuclear power plant in Clarington? I remember it was taken down at one point, but not sure if it's back up yet.

Darlington Nuclear facility. It's still up and running between Bowmanville and Oshawa.
I lived in Newcastle for a few years back in the 80s. It was a nice place then, not sure about now.

Having grown up in Courtice I can't think of anything wrong with the place. Schools were good, transit was decent, people were nice, and it's growing like crazy.

Just the incinerator. It's causing some concern.
