Windows 8 promo question

Hey guys

If I bought my PC laptop last week, will I be eligible still for the $14.99 upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7?

The Microsoft website talks about the deal but not in much detail.

Just make sure that you haven't got the starter edition.

Early days yet :) Depending on the takeup on this offer and/or initial interest in W8, they may very well come up with another offer - either the same again or a different one.

Apple does the same as well when doing incremental updates from say 10.3 to 10.4 OS versions when nothing major has changed so why complain with Microsoft does it?

Does it seem douchy move? Yes, but then again they probably don't want to be on the hook for shipping charges...
