I was trying to connect my laptop with intel chipset 965 to a 1920 x 1080 monitor. Tried update driver but still doesn't support this high resolution.
Any solution to this?
Does those USB external video card work?

Strange, I have a 965gm in my laptops (Dell Latitude D630/D830's), and it works great on either a 1920x1080 TV, or a 1920x1200 LCD display. Through the DVI or through the VGA port on the laptop.
The hardware definitely supports it. Are you running Windows 7?

VGA's not a problem. You might have to install the monitor's drivers. And make sure you're running the latest drivers from Intel. Windows Update may or may not put Intel's on there.
Other than that, don't know what to say -- I've been running 1920x1200 off the VGA port of Dell laptops with Intel chipsets for the past 7-8 years starting with the D600 series.

My laptop is a Toshiba A200
I tried the driver from intel and still doesn't work.

Are you running both internal an external monitors at the same time? If so, is it set up as duplicate or extend displays?

It was set up as duplicate display.
The resolution pull down menu doesn't has the 1920 x 1080 or 1600 x options...

Duplicate display is going to limit it to whatever the max resolution of your laptop panel is. Disable the internal display or set it to extend displays.

Duplicate means external monitor will duplicate the laptop's LCD display. And the Toshiba LCD display is a lowly display 1280x800 (max.) resolution.
Must use extended display option for the external display to show max. resolution. Then the 1920x1080 option will show for the ext. screen.
