hi everyone, I need some help regarding my Samsung galaxy tab 4G with the speakout $10 unlimited browsing.

I want to know if I want to have data instead of just browsing. Do I have to root my tablet? if so, which proxy app is the easiest for a non tech guy like me?

I have read lots of post but could not find a post for the samsung galaxy tab p7500. My major concern is could it be done so that I can use skype, youtube, download apps form playstore and watch movies from netflix? Also, if it can be done could I also turn my tablet into a hotspot? I am using my friend's speakout sim card now and the speed for browsing is fast in scarborough and downtown toronto. Just want to know if I can do the things I list above.

I would appreciate any feedback and if you can help please provide step by step details for a non tech guy.

thanks,
Aaron

I recently bought a used Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 4G. It is locked to Rogers and I have the unlock code. Someone told me about the 7-Eleven $10 unlimited browsing plan but said if I want to have data then I must root the tablet in order to download.

Before I root the tablet, I just want to find out if there is anyone that has done it and what steps and program do they need in order to root it. Are they able to get push email from gmail? Could I use youtube, facebook and netflix? I am very confuse and do not understand most of the jargon being used and the other post were focus on android phone instead of tablet. I am not sure if it make any different.

Speakout thread: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/speakout-data-android-calling-all-users-tips-tricks-1053209/

Yes you will need to root the tablet to install the proxy software. download link in the big thread linked above.

You should be reading the first post a few times over to get an idea of what to expect.

I have done it for a few people before, and the general experience is good overall.

How did things work out on the Galaxy Tab? I was thinking about buying one, and would also try to use speakout. Would love to hear how things worked out...
