Did you turn on the AC yet? It seems like not many people are outside so maybe the AC is already on in many places.

Personally, mine is still covered up. Hopefully no mice in there.

Yea I wonder how peeps living in apartment buildings with no a/c are making out? Must be like an oven!

As for me, I use a/c, and use the basement to stop sweating instantly! Actually using a blanket in my basement cause its so icy cold down here! :D

I worked in a framed only house all day. I literally sweat till I couldn't let any more water out of my body. Coming home to AC was glorious.

Since I am environment friendly, I do not use the ac. But instead, I use an earth friendly fan. I take a magazine and fan myself.

Take a cold shower, lay around and take pleasure in that there is no expectation for me to do anything when it is so hot.

I don't have an AC, but it has been cold and rainy most days so far. We even had flooding and a State of Emergency last month, almost looks like we are going to flood again.

Workplace has AC so it's all cool

I pump AC at home as well...if it's unbearable.

Cold shower before sleep helps tremendously

it's so silly that most of the workplaces AC soooooooooo cold!!! If everybody makes one degree higher it can save lots of energy, plus freezing cold is not good for the bone structure. It's especially not healthy for women in the long run(that's why lots of senior walking with that cart due to their knee problem cause by cold when they are young). To some degree, moderate sweating, on the other hand can boost the metabolism.

Better to be in the AC than using your kid as a pawn in the heat to beg for money (http://www.torontosun.com/2012/06/20/shocking-display-of-parenting)

I hope this couple is ripped to shreds in the media in the very near future. Something is amiss...

I am coping well actually. I do not mind being outside at all. The AC is on in the house, but we just started using it this week. Otherwise it has been off. We even turn it off at night. Even though it is going to be another hot one today, I plan on going for a run. A short one though unless I feel really good and then it will be a regular run.

I love this weather. it is better than the cold and shovelling snow.

Why?

I dunno... I don't uncover it until I need to use it. Usually sometime in August :)

I live on a 12th floor and no A/C but it's cooler inside. I don't have issue with the heat but now I have lots of flies in the room when it's the most hot.
Cosider that heating in the winter and A/C in the summer is the leading cause of obesity. When the body is hot, it just stops wanting to eat.
What do I do?
Shower with cold water which is what I do anyway. Drink cold lemonade, mineral water and pour ice cubes all over . Eat lots of fruit and go out. The secret is that pine trees offer the
best relief from heat when you do go out.

What I'm curious to know:

Men - How do you deal with swalls?
Ladies - How do you cope with swat?

I may have adapted by then, yes.

There were a couple of years when I never used it. One of those years, I never took the cover off.

One year, I just turned it on because I hadn't used it for more than a year and wanted to make sure it still worked.

I am butt naked in my apartment as we speak. I wish it was this hot all year around so I have an excuse to be in the buff - now if only it was socially acceptable to go outside and to work in the nude. Who invented clothing anyways?

Air cond at home and in the car, jump into shorts and dri fit t shirt as soon after work as I can, doing my bike rides with the dogs long after dark, hanging laundry outside instead of using the dryer, not a big deal really.

I go to work in shorts, golf shirt and flip flops (I'll change into a suit when going to client meetings and then change straight back when I'm back in my office).

We run the AC and multiple fans at home.

The great thing about the heat wave is that girls wear less. This afternoon I went shopping and saw a girl in a white top not wearing a bra. I can tell because I can see it through her t-shirt!
