Is there a way for me to apply a reward zone certificate to a preorder I made on Bestbuy for the discounted price?
See, this is why I don't get why people think the Bestbuy deal was better.....you can't even use the extra $10 on your other preorders. It's not even close to getting the game at $20 off

You can't apply reward zone certificates to any pre-orders, you also can't use the certificates for online purchases, only in-store. It's pretty dumb, but at the same time, it's better then nothing.
The concept for the reward zone certificates is that they reward you later for a current purchase, this way they keep you coming back.

I was a fan of the RZ points for preorders until an issue I had with them last fall. Basically, a flyer came out (valid Friday to Thursday) and advertised a game that was being released on the Tuesday. By preordering you would not only get the 800 points but also some loot. I went into the store on the Monday to preorder and was unable to do so. When I complained to the cashier she stated nothing could be done in store and that I needed to contact BB customer service. Below is a copy of the email I sent.
"Subject: Gears of War 3 pre-order
Hello
I went into the Lansdowne location today to pre-order the Gears of War 3 for my son. The reason I did was because according to the Best Buy flyer I received this weekend if you pre-ordered the game besides guaranteeing a copy you would receive
• 800 reward zone points
• Mechanic Baird download code
• Gears of War Toque
When I brought the pre-order card up to the cashier I was informed that I couldn’t pre-order the game as it was within 10 days of being released. I questioned why the flyer (that went into effect Sept 16th) would advertise that you could pre order the game and why the store had display stands of the pre-order card if you couldn’t pre order it. I was told there was nothing they could do as the POS won’t let them do the transaction.
I’m not too happy about this as I made the trip to the store strictly to pre order the game for my son who is a big Gears of War fan and was looking forward to using the download code and getting the toque. Now I have to tell him that Best Buys advertising isn’t always truthful. I would appreciate anything you could do to assist me."
I'll admit I tried to milk it a bit in the last paragraph but I really wanted the toque....
Anyways, I had to send a second followup email before I finally got this response TWO weeks later.
"Dear XXXX,
Thank you for contacting Best Buy Customer Service.
I would be happy to look into this for you.
On our website, you are able to pre order a game until the day before to ensure you get a copy. However, the store may have different protocols on pre orders. I would recommend contacting the store by phone and ask to speak with a store manager to discuss their protocol on pre orders.
Again, thank you for contacting Best Buy Customer Service.
Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Best Buy Customer Service"
At this point I gave up as I could see this going in an endless loop between store and customer service.
