Spend a little more and get each of them an automatic watch?

Thats what I'm planning to do for my groomsmen. An Orient Ray each.

Around $120..

if you dont want to spend that much you can pickup some nice Seiko 5 autos for less than $100.

If they have decent jobs, business card holders with their names engraved

I think this is a great idea. I would definitely recommend Seiko 5 watches for presents. You should be able to get a good price especially if you are buying 6.

For my friend's wedding, he got us each a professionally drawn and printed and framed caricature picture of us in a locker room, each dressed in our favourite sports outfits, since we each liked different sports.

The picture was quite well done.

Cool ties from here (http://cyberoptix.com/)? You could get them all the same or mix up the designs to suit each person.

I got married less than a month ago and I went with a nice Swiss Army knife that had their names engraved in them. I also added a GC for a steak house that we like.

Watch idea is cool. I'd dig that if I got that. The ties aren't bad either. A guy can always use more good ties.

I like the cufflinks idea. Oddly enough a lot of people don't have a set of cufflinks in general or maybe have some comical ones that are pretty cheap. They're always a nice touch, and generally shirts that use them look good!

Otherwise I really like that watch idea.

Cufflinks are a good idea but not everyone has a french cuff shirt to use them with.

$50-70 total or each ?? Sorry, is rfd, so you have to ask.

I like the watch idea too, something they would wear on the big day and after as well.

Seiko 5 is awesome idea but may be a bit out of your budget for nicer, dressy models.
A designer brand isn't a bad idea in this case, I was thinking like Kenneth Cole quartz:

Watches are cool, but so are personalized beer mugs. Depends on your budget.

We got a pewter tankard for the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. They loved them.

Watches, cuff links....too dependent on personal style...

We used the tankards that night. Great pictures.

A bottle of good scotch.

A lot of the other, traditional stuff (flasks, mugs, cuff links) and even a watch if the person isn't a watch wearer, will be thrown in a drawer until some point in the future where it's disposed of.

And what if the person isn't a scotch drinker? I don't drink scotch, doesn't agree with me, but can pound basically any other alcohol without problems.

That's what I did, but for a different Orient model.

I was at my brothers wedding 2 weeks ago and he bought us flasks with our names engraved on it. I love it. Ive never owned a flask before and its great for sneaking booze into places.

Ties are good, not knives. Everybody already has a knife, and a particular one they like. Watches are the same. Everybody has one they like to wear already. Ties are good because you can never have too many of those

I was gonna say cuff-links but I'm liking the tankard/flask ideas, there are some really nice ones out there and they'd last forever. I wouldn't like to receive a watch as I already have a nice one and it would just end up sitting in the box.

If they smoke, a lighter with their name engraved is what I did.

Also, a little note/thank you card that is specific to them is good too.

If you decide to go the cuff-links route, may I suggest these? They are actual Tissot watch movements and really are works of art. My brother-in-law just got them for Father's Day, and they are very, very cool. From http://www.etsy.com/listing/92596158/luxury-steampunk-cufflinks-matching

You have to know your friends...I find these hideous.

People won't bother wearing the cuff links?

The pewter tankard is useful

Dude, unless you are absolutely sure the guys can use them, don't get the cuff links.

I have one french cuff shirt I wear maybe 2-3 times a year and I wear it with different links, so not the same ones over and over again.

Go with the watch idea. Even if they don't wear watches all the time, they will use it a hell of a lot more than cuff links, guaranteed.

Go with the Seiko 5 auto. Classic and relaible watch and has been around a long time.

Me getting cuff links - "What the ef am I going to do with these"

Me getting watch - "Sweet, what a great gift"

hot bridesmaids that will hang out with them for a start.

For gifts something they use or see once in a while and remember back to when they got the item means a good gift (if it was a good time :) )

I am not for the cuff links unless they are going to use them every so often. (I don't think they will)
Beer glasses get used and last a long time.
Liquor flask is cool, will likely get used and is likely not something that they would have bought themselves.

Forget about material things and bring them all out to a sporting event or a concert as a thank you.

As someone who is into to watches, I really do not recommend the cufflinks. Only and enthusiast would know what these are or even like these. Obviously if you want a commemorative item buying them an experience is out. I said I like the watch and recommended the Seiko 5 because they are cheap, reliable, automatic self winding, and have a display caseback to see the guts if you flip it over. Many different styles can be had.

You can gift them Cuff links or nice leather bracelets it will give a personalized touch to your gift or a Brazilian BBQ is also a nice idea.
