Hey guys

I recently purcahsed a refurbished ipad 2 and LOVE it. I got it because after seeing the ipad 3 screen- although beautifull did not impress me enough to spend an extra 150-180 on a new ipad 3. Anywase in regards to gaming- are the graphics better on the new ipad? or is the beefier GPU simply to handle the resolution upgrade? the jump from ipad 1 to 2 in terms of graphcis was quite significant but is there a jump at all besides the resultion improvements?

I've got an iPad 2 and an iPad 3 beside me right now and I must admit there is a noticeable difference. There are some games out there that make good use of the iPad 3's resolution and the games run a little more fluidly and that is it. Only worth the upgrade if you are an impatient tech geek such as myself who can not stand to be using old technology :P

Technically the iPad 3 has twice the graphics power. Meaning that if it ran games at 1024 x 768, it would be able to pull off a much higher level of detail than the iPad 2. However, most game makers choose to take advantage of the retina display. This means that graphical detail will be similar to the iPad 2, but the game will look super crisp.

TLDR: it will always look better on the iPad 3.

if u want sharper graphics, get the new ipad

games will work fine on either.. developers are smart enough to optimize for these devices because there's only 3
