Re-Siding Home Ideas

We're looking to re-side our home which is currently light coloured brick on the first storey and yellow (ugh) vinyl siding on the second.

The brick on the first storey is decent enough, so we're hoping to just do the second storey. Any ideas?? Maybe stucco? Vertical beige siding? Faux wood?

Do you own both homes? Is the other owner onboard with getting new siding?
They do have that faux stone siding at Lowes that I've seen.
