best deal i found online for a flight is through Matrix airfare search.
however when i click on the link that is supposed to take you to agencies that they support, it just takes you to home page :facepalm:
anyone know which travel agencies in toronto will support this search engine? (few that i called said they only use their own)

ITA is just for searches not a booking engine.
You can book at any online travel agent - kayak, expedia, travelocity etc OR send your itinerary to your travel agent and they can book it for you.
Keep in mind prices fluctuate based on booking codes and you may not get the exact far with an OTA because of this.

What Frank said.....
Why not just go to the website of the airline that Matrix tells you has the best deal and itinerary and book it online yourself? What do you need a travel agent for to book airfare?

i tried exactly that and the price is about $500 more expensive.
but please prove me wrong and try it yourself:
(below are details for matrix return airfare search)
departing from: YYZ
destination: BKK
outbound date: august 1 (plus/minus 2 days)
return date: sept 25 (plus/minus 2 days)
* unclick allow airport change
search
the reason for wanting to go with human agent is cause i want to stopover for a few days in taipei (doesnt matter in which direction) and cannot figure out how to do it with matrix.... but even without the stopover, i cannot match the price matrix provides by doing it manually on airline websites. not even close

Stopping over for a couple of days in Taipei makes it a multi-city itinerary. Try: YYZ :: TPE in the origin line. You'll see that the lowest prices are for layovers less than 8 hours.
There's a flight from Aug 5 to Oct 6 including a 52h stopover for $1976 but it's not in your specified timeframe.

If you provide the exact flight numbers, any decent agent should be able to get you the same or similar price.
You can quote the price from ITA and they should be able to match it (if not beat it).
