Stumbled upon this news http://metronews.ca/news/canada/275957/google-tv-coming-to-canadian-living-rooms/ which will be supported by Sony Internet Player. Check this out on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hURGFAy3g9I

What your take on this? Smart TV geeks?

it hasn't really taken off in the states, didn't they partner with logitech on it last year and it failed so they firesaled them for $99?

with bandwidth caps/content differences (both beyond their control) here, I don't see it making a significant impact.

ur better off getting that android on a stick in the hot deals thread :D

Don't know why they partnered with Sony to be honest. So let me guess you buy the Sony internet player with Google TV and you can hook it up to any TV? Plus the price point is pretty high. Apple TV itself is cheaper plus you can jailbreak, etc.

I don't know about this one, but all I can say is count myself out of this one.

Might not fail as bad as the Nexus Q, but only because it's $100 cheaper. All the reviews say while the hardware has improved (rave reviews on the remote BTW), the software has ways to go.

Remote control holds the potential of being quite decent with touchpad and mini keyboard. They shoud drop the price in half though.

Meh. It's Sony, so it probably supports Cinavia.
