I recently moved to midtown Toronto, and I just adopted a lab/hound mix puppy from a rescue. He'll be due for his second set of shots in the near future, so I need to find a reputable vet in the area. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not rich, so I want a competent vet with fair pricing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If anyone is interested, I called the OSPCA in Newmarket to inquire about neutering costs, and the waitlist is about 5-6 months for a male dog (~$75).

Cannot recommend a Midtown vet, sorry. I did want to mention that I believe the Toronto Humane Society offers spaying and neutering at a discounted price. Call them to see if the wait is that long.

I've been taking my dog (now 1 year old) to the Bayview Malls clinic (at Bayview / Cummer) on the advice of a friend and a few posters here. First visit was a few months ago to get annual check-up and heartworm meds. Then just last week she was spayed there also.
I wouldnt say they are a cheap vet, but they are no more expensive than the majority. I found the doc I dealt with didn't try to push any unwanted products or procedures on us, and was geuinely very nice and caring. And even after the spay I took her in 2 more times within the next few days (mostly just cause i was overly cautious/paranoid about a few things), and they never charged me anything additional even thought the doc did a pretty thorough exam of her. They also called me a few times after the spay just to check how she was doing, and to answer some other question i had asked.
So far... great experience there. But im sure with any vet... you will find good and bad reviews if you ask enough people. Good luck!

When we lived by Yonge/Davisville, we took our dog to Usher's Animal Hospital. They treated him really well and he actually got excited any time we walked nearby. The cost may be average or above average - we didn't spend any time comparison shopping.
