Which one do you like better? Buy that one. ;)

Choosing a car is a personal decision; everyone has their own preferences and priorities. We have no idea what you're looking for in a car, so it's impossible to give a recommendation.

will i prefer the Elantra but the guy only willing to take $300 off. I'm also wondering for is it a good deal to buy the civic for $23700.
I'm just very nervous, since this will be my first car :D

Someone posted an Honda EX auto in the forums recently lower than the price you posted. You might want to check it out :)

yea i saw that guy post, he got it for $22200. This will be my first car, I just wondering how much is a reasonable price for the civic EX( I don't think i can get the $22200 price).
I also want to know did anyone try to get the Elantra GL 2013 auto in the mid $22000 for Vancouver market.

update: I took the 23k all in from OpenRoad Hyundai for the Elantra GL

t/m i'm going to go test drive and a put down a deposit for a blue or sliver. If anyone dealt with openroad hydunai in richmond in car buying before, please share your experience. They have pretty bad rating online :(. Is making me very nervous.

Update: They are asking a deposit to bring the car in, should i ask them to sign a receipt. I read that when you go pick up the car they might add lot of charge if i don't get a receipt.

Hi OP.

Before you put down any deposit I would strongly suggest you go home and cool off after the test drive(s) and think over the numbers you get from the dealerships and compare with others. Shop around. These cars will still be there next week and next month, no need to rush.

I would also get a Car Cost Canada report for the model you're looking at or even call the APA and see if their buying service is available in your area. You need to have an idea of what trim you want and how much you're willing to pay, usually cost +3-5%. Test drive all the cars you're cross shopping and try and bring a friend with new car buying experience to come with you. Sometimes an unemotional set of eyes can stop you making a hasty decision. Good luck.

The Elantra in my opinion looks better than the Civic but it is definately less reliable. Also, there is not one professional review that will be praise the Hyundai as a driver's car. Also, I have read many Hyundai owner's posting that Hyundai does not always honour their warranty although they seem to have the longest warranty. Personally, I think you should lease a Hyundai rather than buy one. On the other hand, I would definately buy the Civic and not lease it. FYI, I don't own either brand of vehicle. Don't rush into making a decision. Also, with the same options, the Hyundai should be cheaper than the Honda or else why would anyone buy it?

Consider the 2012 Sonata, too. There's a $4000 discount on it right now, so the price is very tempting. Someone else mentioned getting it priced at about $24k OTR in Ontario (even at MSRP, it's $24853 OTR) -- http://forums.redflagdeals.com/hyundai-promotions-pricing-1022657/81/#post14971192
